Before

Widgets built for one tour engine needed to be migrated to another, with different hooks
Tour and destination widgets were needed, without search or cart
After the first version, the client requested card layouts, clickable taxonomies, and a fix for the crossed-out price

What we built

Adapter plugin: four widgets in a custom Elementor category
The data layer converts tours, prices, and catalog discounts into the original plugin's template format
Output templates were migrated as a fork, missing functions were covered with a polyfill
Discounted price: percentage badge, crossed-out old price and new price
URLs for destination, trip type, and category sections without rebuilding the links

Result

The client accepted it: "Well, looks like that's everything" and paid
The plugin works on the live site, widgets pull real tours and destinations
After payment, the client suggested the next task: a feed for Yandex

What matters in a project like this. It turned out to be faster and more reliable to migrate the existing templates and replace the data layer underneath them than to build the widgets from scratch.
